MS 319 Baseball team finished in a 5-5 tie

On Thursday May 16 the MS 319 Baseball team traveled to Central Park to play undefeated East Side Middle School and a great game finished in a 5-5 tie.  The Bulldogs has built a 3-2 lead on the timely hitting by Yadier Gomez(801) and a solid pitching effort by Andy Fernandez(821).  East Side Middle School was able to take a 5-3 lead with the Bulldogs having just 3 outs left in the bottom of the sixth inning to mount a comeback or lose the game.  Cesar Lauset(721) lined a base hit and Yordy Blanco(821) walked to put the tying runs on base.  Andy Fernandez(821) came through with the big hit driving in both runs to tie the score at 5-5.  Ethan Batista(603) made several great catches in centerfield while Rene Corcino(721) made a highlight reel sportscenter play at 2nd base to lead the team on defense.  The Bulldogs who finished the regular season 4-1-1 will play their first play-off game against East Side Middle School on field #9 at the North Meadow Fields in Central Park on Thursday May 23rd at 3:30PM and all are welcome to come out and support the Bulldogs!
